Medical Liaison

 

Position:  Medical Liaison                                                      Status:  Regular, Fulltime

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

High School Diploma or GED.  At least one year of experience working with persons who have developmental disabilities, or in a psychiatric, medical, nursing or child care setting.  College or vocational/technical training that equals at least 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or 720 classroom hours may substitute for the required experience.  Ability to supervise and train clients and coordinate activities.  Possesses valid Florida driver's license.  Good driving record.  Self-starter, highly motivated.  Good reading and writing skills. Strong desire to work with people with disabilities.  Capable of operating independently and following directions.  Can work flexible hours when needed.  Maintains all required trainings and certifications. Certified Nursing or experience in medical field-Highly Preferred,

 

General Statement of Responsibility

 

The Liaison’s primary focus will be coordination of all medical, dental specialty, etc. appointments and follow-up. The position will train staff with recognition of medical monitoring, to include blood pressure, medication contradictions, intake and output for each resident. Monitoring seizure logs, and all medical related issues. Entering all information in to the Therap system to ensure continuity.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.         Effectively manage all day-to-day medical appointments and follow up ARCNFL group home residents.

2.         Maintains high level of productivity.

3.         Encourages and promotes staff development.

4.         Implements policies and procedures related to medical care.

5.         Promptly follows up on all problems and issues related to medical care of residents.

6.         Maintains all medical concerns and follow up for each resident hard copy and electronically.

7.         Understands, stays current with and responds to the needs of people served in regards to medical care.

8.         Is progressive in attitude and action.

9.         Evaluates group homes and recommends needed changes and identifies resources to make those changes related to medical needs of the residents.

10.       Ensures compliance with all contract and legal requirements.

11.       Projects a professional demeanor and participates in professional activities.

12.       Provide physical assistance to clients as needed.

13.       Provides oversight on all medication related issues, auditing, scripts, ensuring MARS are correct, medications have no gaps, and staff are administering per 65G-7. 

14.       Performs other duties as required.

    Reports To:         Group Home Manager

    Salary Range:       $10.00-$15.00 Per Hour
